Solar Hybrid Energy System
The Hybrid System installed in this Property can maintain daily use including the Air Conditioners. With nominal use, night-time use is supported by the back-up batteries and the house can be autonomous.
The System utilizes multiple 550 Watt solar photovoltaic (PV) panels (1.65 kW total), with battery storage and a connection to the utility grid, enabling flexible and reliable energy management. The system converts sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity via PV panels, which is then converted to usable alternating current (AC) electricity by an inverter. The inverter also manages energy flow from solar panels, batteries, and the grid, acting as a charge controller.
Excess solar energy is stored in batteries for use during night-time, cloudy days, or power outages. This setup provides the benefits of energy independence and backup power while maintaining grid connectivity for additional support.
This Hybrid system offers several advantages, including reduced reliance on the grid, cost savings on electricity bills through self-consumption and net metering, and the ability to maintain power during outages by isolating from the grid (islanding) and using stored battery energy. The system can operate in different modes, such as prioritizing self-consumption, or switching to backup mode during outages. Hybrid systems are more efficient than traditional grid-tied systems because they minimize energy waste by storing excess power instead of sending it to the grid.

The entire system is controlled and monitored using a Smart ESS system over WiFi. SmartESS is a mobile terminal application software for intelligent monitoring of energy storage systems that enables users to monitor the energy storage systems status. Information is available in real time more easily and quickly.

This Hybrid systems come with a Hybrid Inverter, battery bank, charge controller and Smart Energy meter. Battery lifespan is maximised by the fact that LifePo4 batteries* are used, controlled by an internal BMS (Battery Management System). Hybrid systems are considered worth the investment due to long-term energy savings and enhanced energy security. They represent a balanced solution between grid-tied and off-grid systems, offering the flexibility of grid backup with the resilience of on-site storage
